Globe Valve

A Globe Valve is a linear-motion valve used to stop, start, and regulate fluid flow. Unlike a Gate Valve (which is only for open/close), the Globe Valve is designed for throttling—meaning you can keep it partially open to adjust the pressure or flow rate within the pipeline.
The name comes from its spherical (globe-like) body shape. Inside, a plug moves up and down against the flow. The fluid is forced to change direction (flowing up through the seat), which creates resistance. This design ensures a tight seal and precise control, making it ideal for steam, oil, and gas applications where flow regulation is critical.
